Social distancing measures, condensed in the sentence "Stay at home" have created a very rare phenomenon in modern cities around the world:
the total emptiness of places impossible to imagine without the presence of individuals who interact with spaces and architecture.
“Empty Milano” is an extensive photographic documentation of the characteristic places of the city of Milan during the “lockdown” decided by the government to counter the Covid-19 epidemic.
The images are made in the typical style of architectural photography.
The rigor of this style and the choice of the time in which the shots are taken make the muffled and surreal atmosphere in the city, evident.
The pictures of this work allow all those who are forced into their homes to have a unique and unrepeatable look at the spaces and architecture of the city of Milan.
