Beyond The Surface
Ephimeral Lake, Val di Non, Trentino, Italy. These lakes gradually fill during the thawing season and then slowly empty during the summer or during any periods of drought. Their water comes from the aquifer created mainly by Lake Tovel and all the tributaries of the area, whether snowfields or other streams. They are therefore important indicators of the quantity of water present in the area.
